Ouvroir the Movie from Chris Marker on Vimeo.
Vous êtes là depuis toujours, et je m’en lasse pas …
I love Bach’s Goldberg Variations meeting Chris Marker’s X-plugs while the camera is rotating… and GEE’s evasive gesture at 30:08
The music is brilliant there. I imagine it on the big screen at that point. I wasn’t sure what piece it was, thanks for filling us in. If anyone is wondering about the Ghent reference at the end, CM writes (via an anonymous friend): “Invited to do an Ouvroir Tour in Ghent next Friday, Guillaume (having concluded that live tours are frustrating for the performer and for the audience) decided to make it a 30 min movie – and as usual, I followed.”
This short is great. I wrote Chris once and he sent me a picture of William Of Egypt!

What is the music? It isn’t bach’s goldberg variations
Good question, francis. Can anyone out there answer it?
I feel like i’ve heard it on the end of an apocalyptic movie before. It sounds like its from the 20th century at least.. maybe
